NLP & Training
What is NLP?
Neuro linguistic programming, or NLP is both a philosophy and an education. It teaches you how to think and communicate in more effective ways. It has been described as ‘The art and science of communication’.

Richard Bandler and NLP
Dr Richard Bandler invented NLP in the 1970s with his colleague, John Grinder. Since then it has transformed itself into a phenomenally successful psychological toolkit that enables you to create greater success, personal growth and freedom in all aspects of your life. Our ability to do anything, whether it’s riding a bike, painting a picture or reading this, depends on how we use our brain and our body. NLP is like the ‘how to’ manual for the brain.
How does it work?
NLP works through understanding how we think and how we behave. We use language to think and communicate and by understanding this process better, and use better constructed language you are able to control your emotional state, change any unwanted habits or patterns of behaviour and get what you want from your communications with others.
By understanding how we perceive the world through our five senses, we can then understand how some people respond very resourcefully to a situation while others do not. Once we learn how those who remain resourceful set up their representations, then it’s a simple matter to teach ourselves to do the same thing.
Whether we want to improve our skills, overcome a fear or become more confident, NLP has a strategy to help you. One of the most important attributes of NLP is that it’s entirely pragmatic. In other words – it works. This is probably the main reason why this relatively young model has grown so fast in popularity and gained great respect in the medical, psychotherapeutic and business fields.
