Many people want to find out more about our course before they enrol on it and we have compiled a list of some of the most commonly asked questions.
What is the difference between hypnosis and hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis has been around for thousands of years and is just the simple process of putting someone into a trance. Hypnotherapy is therapy, which uses hypnosis as powerful tool to facilitate change. It is used worldwide. Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis - but hypnosis is not hypnotherapy
If I enrol for the Diploma in Integrated Hypnotherapy, what will my qualification mean?
Your qualification is a nationally recognised Diploma in Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Some courses just focus on smoking cessation or weight loss and don’t address the myriad issues that are presented to a practising hypnotherapist. Our course qualifies you to practise hypnotherapy for a wide range of issues in private practice or for the NHS.
Is your Hypnotherapy training course approved and accredited?
Yes. Our hypnotherapy course has been externally accredited and approved by the three main independent hypnotherapy bodies set up to ensure that standards prevail in the profession: The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council, The Hypnotherapy Association and The Hypnotherapy Society. They set criteria such as course content and class room and study hours and all require high standards.
How long has your school been established?
Many hypnosis schools come and go and you don’t want your chosen course folding half way through your training! Our training school has been established since 1997 and is going from strength to strength.
How much studying is there?
The Home Study Modules are carefully designed to ensure maximum comprehension of the theories presented and written by professional, practising hypnotherapists. The subjects are then covered on the Practical Weekends by the modern teaching methods of presentation, demonstration, examples and practise. You are never subjected to a boring lecture! You are then asked to write about your practice of the skills and submit it for assesment and feedback. You do not have to be an academic or used to studying to complete the Home Study tasks and are given every help and support to pass each Module.
What are the class sizes?
Some courses cram as many students as they can into a classroom. If you’re one of 50 or even 100 students, you probably wouldn’t get the support and feedback that you need. With this in mind, we run smaller classes with an average of 20 students. We have 3 tutors available for the course and there are always qualified, friendly and helpful Supervisors on hand. We boast a very high student/staff ratio, ensuring exceptional support at all times.
Do you offer free resources?
The main hypnotherapy coursebook is included in the price of your training. In addition, you are given comprehensive notes giving in-depth information on each subject covered. You also have free membership to our large resource library of hypnotherapy text books, CDs and DVDs so that you can develop your learning fully.
Do you offer post-graduate support and supervision?
Starting out in practise can be daunting experience and you want to know that you can count on your trainers to give you advice when you need it. The tutors are available to answer your questions and give advice via email or phone after you qualify. In addition, you will receive free case supervision for 6 months after you qualify and with the option of continuing afterwards for a nominal fee. Our school also offers excellent professional Hypnotherapy Masterclasses on a wide range of specialist subjects so that you can continue to develop and grow in your skills.
What about the course fees?
Take a good look at what you’re actually getting on the course and ask yourself if it fulfils all your needs. Our course is very good value for money - we have tried to make it accessible for most people’s budgets, especially as we provide an option for spreading the cost of the training over about 10 months. Also, a Career Development loan is available for our course.
Am I given advice on how to start up in practice?
The last Home Study Module is dedicated to giving you all the information you need to start your career as a hypnotherapist. It includes advice and help on marketing, professional indemnity insurance, how to register with the NHS or BUPA, where to practice, what to charge and what equipment you need. We even include a 28 Day Marketing Plan to kick start your career.
